Service Description

Wylara is a camping trip planning platform that helps you find, compare, and plan campsite visits across the United States. We combine public land data, user-contributed information, and personalized recommendations to help you choose the right campsite for your trip.

By creating an account or using Wylara, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Account Terms

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at hello@wylara.com.

  • One account per person. Shared accounts are not permitted.
  • You must provide accurate information when signing up.
  • You're responsible for any content you post or submit through Wylara.

Subscription & Billing

Wylara offers a free tier and two paid plans:

  • Explorer— $48/year. Includes campsite scoring, saved trips, and personalized recommendations.
  • Guide— $96/year. Includes everything in Explorer plus advanced map intelligence, group trip planning, and priority support.

All paid plans are billed annually. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. Prices may change with 30 days' notice.

SMS Messaging Terms

Wylara offers SMS alerts as an optional notification channel for paid subscribers (Explorer and Guide plans). By enabling SMS alerts, you agree to the following:

  • Consent: By providing your phone number and enabling SMS alerts, you consent to receive automated text messages from Wylara related to campsite availability monitoring.
  • Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your monitoring configuration. Explorer plan subscribers receive up to 10 SMS per day. Guide plan subscribers have no daily limit. You control which campsites are monitored and can adjust settings at any time.
  • Message and data rates: Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Wylara does not charge separately for SMS delivery.
  • Opt-out: You can stop SMS alerts at any time by disabling SMS in your notification preferences, or by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, you will receive one confirmation message.
  • Help: For help with SMS alerts, reply HELP to any message or email hello@wylara.com.
  • Supported carriers: SMS alerts are available on most major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Quiet hours: You can configure quiet hours in your notification preferences to prevent SMS delivery during specific hours, unless the alert is marked as urgent.

Automated Recommendations Disclaimer

Wylara uses algorithms to score campsites, generate trip recommendations, and personalize your experience based on quiz responses and usage patterns.

Recommendations are informational only and are not safety guarantees. Campsite conditions change frequently due to weather, fire closures, road conditions, and other factors. Always verify current conditions with the managing agency (such as the Forest Service, BLM, or National Park Service) before heading out.

Wylara does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any algorithmically generated recommendation.

Location Data Accuracy Disclaimer

Campsite coordinates, trail data, and map information provided by Wylara come from public sources including Recreation.gov, OpenStreetMap, and user contributions. While we work to keep data accurate, we cannot guarantee that every location pin, road, or trail is correct.

Always carry a physical map and GPS device when venturing into backcountry areas. Do not rely solely on Wylara for navigation.

User-Generated Content

You may contribute campsite reviews, condition reports, photos, and other content to Wylara. By submitting content, you grant Wylara a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the platform.

  • You retain ownership of your content.
  • Content must be accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • Do not post content that is harmful, misleading, or violates someone else's rights.
  • We may remove content that violates these terms without notice.

Outdoor Activity Liability Limitation

Camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities carry inherent risks including injury, illness, property damage, and death. Wylara is a planning tool, not a safety service.

By using Wylara, you acknowledge that outdoor recreation is inherently risky and that Wylara is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage that occurs during your trips.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wylara's total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.
