Things people ask us

If your question isn't here, just ask.

Wylara is a camping trip planning platform designed to help you find the perfect campsite. Instead of clicking through hundreds of listings on recreation.gov, Wylara scores and ranks campsites based on what actually matters to you. Check out our features to see how it works.

Every campsite gets a score based on dozens of factors: shade coverage, proximity to water, privacy from neighbors, terrain quality, road access, cell signal, nearby trails, and more. Your camping personality quiz results weight these factors to match your preferences. Someone who loves solitude will see different top picks than someone who wants family-friendly amenities.

Yes. The whole app is free for anyone with an account. Browse every campground, use the full map and every layer, set unlimited availability and cancellation alerts, build unlimited trips, download offline maps, save spots, and share them. No credit card, no trial clock, nothing locked behind a wall.

The only thing with a limit is having Wylara plan an entire trip for you, the route, the sites, and the research. That runs on tools that cost real money per use, so it’s free 5 times a month. Plan more than that and a Trip Pass or Guide keeps it unlimited. See why it’s free.

A handful of ways that don’t cost you anything: photo prints, the occasional booking referral, and an optional upgrade for people who plan constantly.

If you want Wylara to build more than 5 full trips a month for you, a Trip Pass ($14.99 for one trip, 7 days) or Guide ($96/yr, unlimited) keeps it going. Everything else stays free for everyone, always.

Only one thing: unlimited done-for-you trip planning. Free gives you 5 of those a month. If you blow past that, these lift the cap.

  • Trip Pass ($14.99, one-time): unlimited planning for 7 days, on one trip. No subscription, no auto-renewal.
  • Guide ($96/yr): unlimited planning all year. Pause anytime if you only camp seasonally.

Neither unlocks anything else, because everything else is already free. See pricing.

Yes. Cancel from your account settings whenever you want, no questions asked, and you can pause for up to 3 months a year if you only camp seasonally. Trip Pass is one-time, so there’s nothing to cancel. See our refund policy for details.

Yes, and it's free. Download a region before you lose signal and the map, your saved spots, and your trip come with you. Offline navigation follows the road even with no service.

Dispersed camping (also called boondocking or primitive camping) is camping outside of designated campgrounds, typically on public lands managed by the Forest Service or BLM. It's usually free, with no reservations needed, but also means no amenities like restrooms or water. Wylara maps 50,000+ dispersed camping spots with access info, terrain details, and user reports.

The quiz asks about your camping style, comfort preferences, activity interests, and trip priorities. It takes about 2 minutes. Your results create a camping profile that Wylara uses to weight campsite scores and surface recommendations that match how you like to camp. You can retake it anytime if your preferences change.

Yes. Location data is only used to show nearby campsites and calculate distances. We don't sell or share your location with third parties. You can revoke location access anytime through your browser settings. Read the full details in our privacy policy.

Yes, and it’s free. Create shared itineraries, invite friends to collaborate on campsite picks, and coordinate logistics in one place. Everyone in the group can see and help build the plan.
